The Cambodian Children’s House of Peace is an orphanage that I visited and volunteered at during my stay in Cambodia.  Most of the children who live here, although some are “true” orphans without any parents, are economic orphans.  Their families could no longer find the means to feed or shelter them and so were sent to live here. Although coming out of sad and dire circumstances, the whole vibe and character coming from this place was anything but.  Here the children are happy.  They go to school everyday where they have the opportunity to learn and practice their English.  They have food, a roof over their heads and people who are able to care for them and love them.  You can’t ask for a whole lot more.
